Would like to see some MVP's chambered in 5.45x39 or 7.62x39. Especially since Hornandy is domestically loading these cartridges now.

It's amazing, wanting to have different caliber configurations and Mossberg must be sitting on their hands. This rifle should be in every store in america. You walk into stores on the west coast and most people have no knowledge of this model or they state we don't sell Mossberg rifles...just my rant

It will be interesting to see how much Mossberg has penetrated the market with the MVP a year from now. I hope they are ready to support the following the MVP is developing. The interest in the MVP and this dedicated forum has been more than I anticipated and there are only a few MVPs in the hands of the shooting public. Pretty exciting!

Seeing how they have been out since Oct of 2011 I really don't think Mossberg is taking the MVP serious enough. Reading some of the reports from around the web people putting down money in advance and never seeing a MVP has got to mean something. I hope they don't think that everyone is going for that tactical lever action 30-30.. we shall see.

I work on the gun counter at cabelas and we can't keep the damn things in stock. I think 8 of the 10 firearms employees have one. Love em!

Twelled, Welcome to the MossbergMVP.com. So, how long do you think it will be until the 18.5" and 20" MVP Predator model makes it to stores? I think it will be tough to keep any of them in stock with any regularity.

18.5" MVP Predator. Kinda like a pack rifle. Introduced in January 2012

Interesting. Im usually very up on the new stuff, and I havent seen that one yet. Were getting into the "scout" rifle with that barrel length now. Ill have to see if I can get my hands on one.

I've hear alot about the gunsite scout rifle. Great little trail gun in .308. I was going to get that until this MVP popped up on Bud's and I'm glad I got this one. The scout will have to wait.

I can't wait to get my hands on one. I am thinking either a 2-7X33 Leupold VX II or 2.5-8x36. The rifle and glass shouldn't weigh more than 7 1/2 lbs or so?

Id be interested to see how tough it would be to purchase and install an 18.5" or 20" barrel. As far as its role as a scout gun I'd say the only downfall would be the 5.56's ability to reach out to the distance that cooper specified... but on the flip side the MVP takes the same mag and round as the most popular carbine in this country ;) and that makes this rifle the ultimate scout gun in my eyes.

I am thinking a range of 200 yds for whitetails and smaller. Of course it would easily handle 2 legged varmints at that range:D

Try the Leupold FX-II Scout Scope for the rifle. You obviously need the generous eye relief for that mount, and it makes it easier into and out of the scabbard when you use to forward mounting position on the rail...

They were out there, then they got all sucked up with the panic buying! In late November there were 30+ MVPs in different configurations on GunBroker. I am keeping an eye out for you here in Ohio as well.
