Welcome to the Mossberg MVP forum. I have no idea what the international support will be for the MVP. I found a link at GunBroker.com for international transfers if you can't find one in country. http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerInternational.aspx
There have only been a few MVPs showing up here in the states, and several members have posted about Mossberg telling them the MVP is not in full production yet. There are a few for sale at GunBroker http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=277090802
Good luck! Keep us posted if get any info.

I'll check with my local gun shop, but my real concern is that with a 10 round mag will this gun be in a restricted calss ???

You should be able to use the 5 round magz.
Maybe even modify the tens to fives.

calegalmags.com have things like magazine blocks and other ways you can get your mag blocked to 5 rounds if that is a problem for you up north. Boy, and I thought WE had it bad living on the left coast.

Talking to Mossberg last fall I was told that the MVP won't be coming into Canada in it's current configuration. I may be available later in 2012..

The issue??? They are marked 5.56 NATO.. Once they have some marked .223 Rem they will be allowed in..

You have to love the RCMP CFC.. Really silly sometimes..

Thanks for the info. Good looking out! I guess the 5.56 NATO makes it more Sinister and Dangerous:rolleyes:

Yes.. The barrels have to be over 4 inches.. and no 32 or 380 calibre guns.. They are worried about "pocket" pistols I guess..

Well that's not too bad. Most guns I have except my concealed gun are over 4 inches.

NEVER,THE UNITED STATES DOES NOT PERMIT THE EXPORT OF FIREARMS CHAMBERED FOR THEIR MILITARY CARTRIDGES,LIKE 5.56mmx45mm OR 7.62mmx51mm Nato. THE MAGS. ARE NOT THE PROBLEM , NOR DOES CANADA STAND IN THE WAY. YOU CANT HAVE ONE,THATS IT PERIOD. DONT BELIEVE ME? CALL MOSSBERG AND TRY TO HAVE ONE SENT AND ASK WHY WHEN THEY SAY"NO".IF YOU WANT A 5.56mmx45mm BOLT ACTION. BUY A TIKKA T3 < First having found a GOOD gunsmith who has the reamer or can re-throat the barrel to TAKE THE HOTTER AND USUALLY LONGER,DUE TO SEATING DEPTHS AND/OR BULLET WTS. OF THE NATO AMMO. FORGET ABOUT AR MAGS. NOT GONNA HAPPEN BECAUSE YOU NEED THAT NEAT BOLT LIP IN THE UNAVAILABLE MOSSBERG MVP. CHECK OUT GETTING A "WILDE" CHAMBER CUT. IN ANY 223 BOLT GUN TO FIRE CHEAP SURPLUS NATO AMMO.

ok guess what, I have one in order that will be coming in at the end of October 2012, it will not use ar mags, but a regular 5 round mag like the mossberg 4x4... also how come ruger sells a 5.56 nato (mini 14) that is also available to Canada...

WOW,SYLVAINSTER .WILL IT TAKE AN AR MAG. OR IS IT AN EXPORT VERSION? HOW DID YOU MANAGE THIS? I TRIED 5 MONTHS AGO... AND WAS GIVEN A "NO GO" BY MOSSBERG. YES,IT SEEMED SENSELESS BECAUSE THE MINI14 HAD BEEN OK,FOR YEARS. DOES THE ONE YOU ARE GETTING HAVE THE BOLT LIP TO FEED OUT OR AR TYPE MAGS>??? I TRYED TO BUY A BENELLI MR1 TODAY BUT THEY WANTED FULL CANADIAN REGISTRATION INFO. INSPITE OF BILL C19. THAT BENELLI IS A BEAUTY,A MITE PRICY BUT VERY WELL MADE. KEEP US INFORMED AS YOU SEEM TO HAVE AN INSIDE TRACK. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IN DETAIL HOW TO GET AN MVP PREDATOR INTO CANADA.

My dealer placed the order by phone and I was there in the office waiting and earing the conversation. The model is MVP varmint-scoped model 27717 and comes with the benchrest laminate stock, 24 inch fluted barrel (1:9 twist), lba trigger, bipod, scope and so on... The caliber is .223 rem and should not say 5.56 nato, but I didnt see it yet. The mag is a regular 5 round mag that should look like those on the mossberg 4x4, so I guess the bolt will not feed ar mags. I will update as soon as I get the gun or more info, I hope this helps...

So it does not have an MVP bolt, wont safely fire Nato Ammo and wont feed out of an AR Mag. Sounds like just anyones 223Reming ton with no "REAL MVP" features. The scope is a Barska as I understand it,hopefully Im wrong on that. YOU could have bought a laminated stock 223 Savage model12 without the hassle and be holding it now. Ill see if my dealer will call and get me the 18 1/2 inch bull barreled "PREDATOR" with "lipped bolt" and NATO chamber but stamped 223 ... OR just get a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 223Rem. Hope fully you get a "lipped bolt" and a Nato chamber and something other than a Barska Scope. Thanks Lots for the Post, Bill.

Checked "online", #27717 Will TAKE A AR MAG, IT WILL TAKE NATO AMMO. Its stamped,223/Rem. but is otherwise an "MVP"". Its just shipped with a 5 round mag. Its a big Benchrest rifle with the NATO chamber. NOW to see if they have a "Predator" stamped 223 Rem and a 5 round mag., no bi pod, no scope. You could put a 10 round AR type mag in that rifle,IT WILL FEED. It will also safely fire Nato Ammo. I want to put a Leupold 3x-9x Compact on a Predator model with the stiff 18 and 1/2 inch barrel and hunt down a 30 shot AR mag. for a handy "dog town" rifle. your # 27717" has the lipped bolt and Nato chamber for sure..... Varmints BEWARE Sylvainster is there!

I will post some more info, hopefully at the end of October. The model comes with a caldwell bipod and Barska scope 4x16-50, I know its not the best for quality but for the small price difference I'll give it a try... let me know if you get more info on the shorter Predator model.
